Thanksgiving Traditions By Sign Part I

by Dabney Oliver November 20, 2009 01:32 PM EST

Thanksgiving is a time to come together and give thanks and gratitude for your bounty. Families across the country have traditions - most including what we eat on this fabulous day. With a new little one or one on the way this might be a great time to start a new tradition around the true meaning of hte day.

Below are some examples by sign:

Aries - All across the country you can find Turkey-Trots and Thanksgiving 5K's that benefit charities and good causes. Lace up and jog for a cause with your family this holiday.

Taurus - It might sound corny, but little Taurus children love gifts of any kind. Start a Thanksgiving tradition of giving your little one a *small* gift of appreciation to let them know how special they are to you on this fine day.

Gemini - Find a children's book this Thanksgiving that speaks to your heart and read it aloud with the family each year after indulging in your feast.

Cancer - Cancers adore tradition almost as much as they adore food and sleeping. Thanksgiving is a wonderful opportunity to have a big puppy pile on your bed and snuggle post feast with loved ones.

Leo - Most families don't have time for a game night and face it - most teenagers would run away if it was inflicted upon then weekly - but a yearly tournament on Thanksgiving will bring joy and laughter to any household with Leo energy. Enjoy one another's company and bond over a innocent game of Yahtzee.

Virgo - Create a nice tradition of packing up left-over's and bringing them to a shelter or volunteer at a soup kitchen as a family the morning of Thanksgiving. Do for others and reap the rewards together.

Stay tuned for part II.

Happy Thanksgiving!
