Oil Spill - Solar Eclipses

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill is now clearly a good deal worse than the Exxon Valdez disaster in Alaska (24 March 1989). Though there are astrological similarities between the two events, then and now, when plotted on the USA chart. Pluto was at 5 degrees Capricorn exactly at the leak started in opposition to the USA Jupiter suggesting an event that is mega-large, could involve losses and conflicts with authorities.

In 1989 when the Exxon Valdez disaster occurred, Uranus was at 5 degrees Capricorn again exactly opposition the USA Jupiter which is a major jolt. In 1989 transiting Neptune Saturn in Capricorn were opposition the USA Sun; and at the moment the transiting North Node at the moment is opposition the USA Sun. So there are relatively similar and strong pressures on core USA planets.

Also if you take the USA 4 July 1776 11 am chart which I find shows up events the most clearly, the transiting Saturn opposition tr Uranus of the moment is exactly conjunct the USA 11 am chart Ascendant/Descendant and exactly square Midheaven. That was always going to bring a tremendous shake up.

Could you have predicted it in advance? Solar Eclipse charts are one way of trying to pinpoint these kinds of events since they focus in on location. And it is not just the previous Solar Eclipse but usually Eclipses over several years back. These Solar Eclipse charts seem to hold their potency for some years afterwards.

The January 2010 Solar Eclipse set for the Louisiana coastline does have accident-prone Mars conjunct the Midheaven with Neptune (ruler of oil and the ocean) conjunct Jupiter in the 4th, suggesting domestic panic from the sea (Neptune). Jupiter Neptune is connected to speculation, wastefulness, losses and disappointments. The Mercury Pluto conjunction of that chart has closed to exact bringing intense and gloomy discussions. When the oil rig first blew on April 22 the transiting Moon Mars conjunction in Leo was conjunct the January 2010 Solar Eclipse Midheaven exactly. That in itself is a small influence but enough to trigger an event which has been building up critical mass.

The July 2009 Solar Eclipse had Neptune Jupiter conjunct the Ascendant with Mars conjunct the IC/nadir – so again the angles are emphasised for this location, which was always the warning sign for Eclipse charts manifesting events. Over the accident the tr Saturn opposition tr Uranus was picking up the Cancer New Moon by sextile and trine. With the tr Moon Mars exactly trine the Midheaven.

Though I had always suspected it was the difficult August 2008 Solar Eclipse which would bring more after effects of a less than pleasant variety. Since it had an explosive Mars opposition Uranus square Pluto, with the New Moon in Leo prominent in the 1st when set for Louisiana. My feeling was that problems would spark up when tr Uranus reached the exact square to the emphasised Pluto on the 2008 Eclipse chart. And on cue there was not just a gigantic USA oil spill but also the Icelandic volcano blowing disruption as well. Tr Saturn is now in the very stuck square to the Eclipse Pluto in the aftermath. Tr Uranus has two more hits on that 2008 Eclipse Pluto between now and early 2011 so there may be more earth shaking moments to come.
